• Remember Bhopal Museum

    Remembering Struggles, Collecting Memories

  • Keeping History Safe

The museum does not give a sanitized, official version.  Extraordinary stories of pain and courage are presented through raw voices of people and their ordinary objects.  It is a community owned space.

Important Update

We are hugely excited to share that the Remember Bhopal Museum has partnered with Leeds University’s Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Culture on the LivingBodiesObjects project, to explore how bodies, technologies and health interventions interact in context of disasters, which has just received £1 million in funding from the Wellcome Trust!

The Remember Bhopal Museum is among the core external partner organisations that will work with the Leeds team, as well as creative facilitators Immersive Networks, to develop a six-month residency that will explore the intersections of health, memory and recovery processes in Bhopal.

The project’s other external collaborators include Bhopal Medical Appeal, Thackray Museum of Medicine, Interplay Theatre and BlueBerry Academy.

We are delighted to be granted this excellent opportunity to work alongside the team at Leeds University and other collaborators and congratulate them on securing this prestigious and highly competitive award from Wellcome.

    Help Us Save The Museum

The museum does not accept any government or corporate funds; so far it has survived on small, individual donations apart from funding from environmental and activist groups in India and abroad. The fundraiser in 2017 helped us sustain for the past two years. Our funds are now exhausted. For now, the museum will be dismantled unless we raise funds immediately. Help us save the museum.
